    I used the WOW slider with some CCS additions to allow text over the slider > https://initiostar.co.uk/demo/wow-animation/. Full Width with Scale-to-fit-Width.

    Gary, I'm not sure if WOW Slider is free or not. This did look promising: https://wowslider.com/jquery-slider-...mo.html?tw=wd8, but is heavily reliant on jQuery.

    Footnote: the most processing efficient way to achieve the Ken Burns effect is to record a video of it and replace the WOW slider with the video; sourced direct from a serve.
    Using CSS has next to no overhead and I would avoid a video as a substitute.
    anime.js is extremely powerful for complex animation effects and I might play with that sometime.
