Is there some script that I could place into the body of the index file that prevents some browsers from skewing the font size and type as well as placement?

Gary, I thin we'd need some example of this.
Font families have their fall-backs, browsers have different rendering engines, (sub-pixel) anti-aliasing and size cut-offs, ...
Possibly aim for web-safe fonts and larger font sizes: https://blog.hubspot.com/website/web...html-css-fonts.
You may have to add CSS code for fall-backs: https://www.w3schools.com/csSref/css..._fallbacks.php.
You might be hitting server delays so possibly consider https://blog.cloudflare.com/cloudfla...privacy-speed/.
