Coding to prevent text size change or placement change

Is there some script that I could place into the body of the index file that prevents some browsers from skewing the font size and type as well as placement?

Gary, I thin we'd need some example of this.

Font families have their fall-backs, browsers have different rendering engines, (sub-pixel) anti-aliasing and size cut-offs, ...
