Is it technically possible to load movie clip exported in Flash 5 with ver 5 plug-in features into main movie exported in Flash4.
The plan is to detect plug-in version when a button is clicked in the main movie and load movie clip exported in matching version. Have anyone done this before and if it produced any problems at all?

Well, you can export as Flash 5, which the Flash 4 player will still play - it just won't interpret Flash 5 features, that's all. So create your clip in Flash 5, create some sort of condition that requires Flash 5 - if it fails, load the Flash 4 clip. If it succeeds, load the Flash 5 clip. That should do it. I think there's a technote about this at Macromedia's Flash Support Center, but I can't remember the URL offhand.

Thank you, it's exactly what I thought. Just couldn't wait so I went ahead and finished the project . I knew it should work I was just worried it could produce an error while the movie is running and I was wondering if somebody had negative experience with it.

Here is the finished project if you'd like to take a look: http://www.linecraft.com/flash.htm
Thank you again.
