I'm sure, lots can be done with this one!

First thing that came to mind once rotated 90 degrees was a lifeboat davit but I settled on a helmet.

I’ve just been reading a fascinating book which I picked up in a local bookshop about the ‘Town class light cruiser’ HMS Birmingham. Not my usual reading matter, the book is basically the history and builders plans (general arrangement drawings) for the whole ship. Some of the original drawings were over 12 ft (3.65 m) long.

Can you imagine a draftsman working on a drawing that size! You could have 4 of them working on it at the same time.
