    Default Text Flow and Repelling

I don't understand why the text doesn't flow and repel properly. On the second column the brown outline is marked to repel and is above the text and the green oval isn't repelling and is below the text. Shouldn't the text flow into the oval and be repelled by the brown? In the original document, which is the same as the example except with regular text rather than the lorem ipsum, the brown is marked to repel and is above the text but it doesn't repel, the text disappears behind the brown border.

It's because you have the brown shape on a layer called 'Border Mask', and that is above the layer that has the text, 'Graphics'.

Either move the brown shape onto the Graphics layer, or move the Border Mask layer to be below the Graphics layer.

Now I've had a better look, I'm completely wrong.

Leave everything as is. Select the shape in Border Mask and Arrange > Break Shapes
