brush / line issue

I have created some "clouds" using a custom brush. The top/green object in the attached file acts as a line as it was drawn. The bottom/blue cloud is a bunch of separate shapes (ctrl-click to select a dot). I'm not sure how this converted, but I'd like to duplicate it. I've tried convert to editable shapes and add shapes, but it's not working the same.

the upper line looks like you have either applied your brush to the outline of a shape or drawn a closed shape, and then removed the shape fill - if having done this, you then use arrange > convert line to shape , you will get the lower line

Ah yes, thank you very much! I forget about convert line to shape and use convert to editable shapes which doesn't work on lines.

Thanks! Just finally getting into using brushes as I'm taking up "painting". Pretty cool all the possibilities like clouds, trees, waves that had me stumped before. Here's my latest amateur work.
