    Default Font Substitution

Not sure if this is a Xara or server issue, when typing in www.ryebreadfest.com on a Android browser, one of the fonts used, Open Sans Light, is replaced with another font, Aldrich which is used as sub-headers, causing the text to run off the page horizontally.

Additionally, using the same browser, the font on the dropdown hamburger menu isn't consistent on each page. I used the default 480px mobile size to create this. The site seems to work fine through links or if rye bread festival is searched on google. And no issues on an iphone or desktop version.

Any suggestions to remedy this issue are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    Pete

Pete, it probably depends on the XDA version you have. The site seems to be made with v18/19 so ought to be quite up-to-date.

This, however, might give you a clue: https://helpandsupport.xara.com/xara...d-devices.html
Open Sans has always been problematic on PCs, so this is just compounding your grief.

Recent XDAs now embed fonts directly into the website: https://helpandsupport.xara.com/xara...documents.html

Either update your XDA or search for the nearest Google Font to yours. The later XDAs now deliver Self-Hosted Google Fonts.

    Acorn,
Thanks for responding. I was under the impression version 18 also embedded fonts. I guess that's not the case, so I'll look into replacing it, and an upgrade. I really like that font though and I've used it in the past unaware of any issues.

I believe I have the six weights of Open Sans from Google but have chosen not to use any. I switched to Manrope.
That said, the Open Sans issue was wider than just Android as of last year, https://www.talkgraphics.com/showthr...081#post646081.

Try a different font first off.
