    Default Backup folder

I recently purchased BitDefender, a virus application, it reports that it cannot scan some Xara files as password protected namely in:-
    C:\Program Files\Xara\Xara Designer Pro+\Backup
It has 1091 files and is 2.75GB dating from 2016 to 2022.
Not understanding the 2016 date as only purchased DP+ in 2022
    Can I delete?

Yes, you can delete them, but why not nip into JB or Harvey Norman and grab a USB stick? Copy the files onto there, then delete...you never know.

Peter, are you sure it is for Pro+?
The age and size more indicates to me all your prior work with XDPX, which will have saved all work from your prior versions into the same default folder.
    Keep and prune judiciously.

I don't use the xara backup but I understand the default location for backups is in AppData/... not Program Files/...

this can be changed in the program, but would other versions be pointed to pro+ ?

since it is not clear what they are I would surely keep - I have an offline disk full of stuff like this...

handrawn, you are right. This Backup is for the program itself.
All the files with have their suffix extended with a dot and count number.
The easiest way is to order them by Type and your list will then show '<count-no> File'. Earlier versions were suffixed with .BAK and .BK<count-no>.

There is no direct relation to the count to the Xara version; you would have to look at the Xara release date, modified date for those, noting the replaced version is the prior one.

@PP, why they have a created/modified date that is so old could be down to your machine having a dodgy CMOS battery.
Have you had to reset your Date frequently?

Time is OK, not had to correct.
I moved files to an external disk not caused an issue yet!.
    Thanks again for answers.
