Resizing a photo

Hi all - apologies in advance for this stupid question but I have not used Xara for ages and am having a senior moment.

I want to resize a photo - not within the frame but stretch it to make it wider - I understand that this will distort the photo but every time I try to do it I just adjusts it within the frame and I enmd up with a cropped image.

Anyone?

nobby2, hold down the Alt key and then click-drag.

It is all to do with the Xara introduction of Smart transform.

Hi Acorn - many thanks for the super fast and so helful response - that 'hidden' smart transform option was really doing my head in.

It has been a couple of years since I have dabbled with Xara and I am having lots of problems with the 'enhancements' in the new version.

Thanks again for your help - this may only be the begging of the stupid questions! LOL
