    Default Slider problems

    Back with a new challenge!
I inserted a xara slide show and made it full width. All fine so far. The problem is if I export the site with the fit to width option enabled the slider loose the stretch property and just fits the page size. If I export as website then becomes full stretched again. It's baffling!!

With a standard Xara slideshow, you can proportionally adjust the height and width of the slider, but it should not extend beyond the page width. You should not be applying ‘Stretch-Full-Width to any Xara slideshow either. You can of course increase the page width to (say) 1440px or similar, but I suspect what you are looking achieve is a slider that extends to the full browser width, regardless of the page size.

There are examples of how to code this functionality here on TG and one has the option to adopt third party sliders, such as WOW. You also need to consider what happens in a mobile variant design.

Personally, I would keep it simple, adopt a desktop width of 1440px and have your slider width 1440px to match. It then works perfectly with Export > Scale-to-fit-Width

Here are some example sliders that can be extended to a page width : https://initiostar.co.uk/demo/zNivo/

Here is a WOW slider (slightly modified code) : https://initiostar.co.uk/demo/wow-animation/

And a Xara Full-Browser-Width Slider : https://initiostar.co.uk/demo/Pan/index.htm - this is tad tricky but works up to 4K screens. The transition is a Cube Rotate > Vertical.

Others here on TG might have other suggestions too.

Gary, I thought I would have a play at this, not having bothered with Xara sliders for a time.

I have manged to convert the Zaccordion 2 slideshow to work full width with some CSS tweaks.
    The demo is : CSS - Zaccordion2.xar
You do not need Scale to Fit Width so will work on very early Xara versions.

I am sure the others will be as bothersome but not impossible to modify.

I was going to look at the Xara Slideshow widget.
In XPro+, Xara has restored the Widget so it can be used again; it vanished as it was Magix-hosted. It may not behave the same as in Magix versions.
I found it handles Sticky and Stretch to Full Width unchanged.
What stopped me is its Widget Title: Non-GDPR Compliant Widget! It is in https://www.xara.com/uk/designer-pro/templates/ as Xara Slideshow with no mention anywhere its its non-compliance.
    (%locaappdata%\Xara\XtremeProSub\Sub\Cache\designs \eng\components\imagecomponents\slideshows\widget_ mediawidget_live_xh.xwr)

In passing the Xara Team has vastly improved its website presentation at https://www.xara.com/uk/designer-pro/advanced/; the templates section is very similar to how XaraTemplates.com has shown its wares.
