Accented Letters in a Xara Document

I just created a naff Xara Widget:

- Paste into your design.

Copy into a text editor and Save as CharCopy.xwr.
Mine is in a Widget Folder and is accessed through the Local Designs gallery.

XWR files are used to build Placeholders with body code; here you just close it.
It saves the need for a separate browser window.

Gary, if you're not using a Unicode font they might not be there to show.
That said, i have rechecked and the shortcuts work in MS Word but not Xara!

My get out of jail free card is to change your Auto Correction dictionary to something like:

! ! you can press Ctrl+Z to undo any autocorrection

'' ‘’ smart single quotes

Gary, just checked they are all there in Arial so Xara must filter them away:

• Shift+Alt+Ctrl+& is picked up by Xara as Shift+Alt+Ctrl+7, which is assigned to Disable Live Share. To re-enable, use Shift+Alt+Ctrl+6.
• Shift+Alt+Ctrl+! (Shift+Alt+Ctrl+1) & Shift+Ctrl+& are both unassigned.
• Shift+Ctrl+A is Paste Attributes.
• Shift+Ctrl+O is Open the Options Dialog.

This updates or creates a plain text file. Mine is autocorrect_en_GB.txt in %localappsdata%/Xara/(product)/<version), or thereabouts.
