    Default Back after 2 years

    Hi folks,

When everything went haywire with the Magix changes a few years ago, I stopped the yearly upgrades and stuck at Designer Pro X17.
It appears that quite a lot has been happening since, and I'm now totally confused with what to do. I'm thinking of restarting the upgrades but don't know which I should go for.

I'm a stand-alone user who uses Xara for various purposes including website, posters etc working from a desktop PC with Windows 10.
I'd be interested in opinions on whether I should upgrade through Magix or Xara, and whether the cloud option is worthwhile.
I also do quite a lot of work on an Android tablet but don't know if there is a Xara version that's usable there and if it's an additional cost.

I'd really be grateful for any advice that you can give.

    Thanks

I have been using Designer Pro+ which is supported and developed by Xara. Xara has been releasing more updates and patches. The Pro+ version also is cloud based as well as desktop. I do not use any of the cloud based features though this is a good option for people who need to collaborate with colleagues and clients.

succa, Xara Cloud+ (including XPro+) would allow you limited manipulation of XAR files so you could achieve some limited work on the Android.
You would use XPro+ exactly as you use XDPXv17.
There is no XDPX product for anything other than Windows.

You could simply upgrade to XDPXv19 but would be quite behind on what XPro+ is offering.
You do have a perpetual licence with XDPXv19 but XPro+ is only on subscription.

XDPXv17 is still a worthy competitor.

Xara is discounting XCloud+ with XPro+ by 70% to midnight tomorrow with coupon FINAL2022 for a year.
This is a year for around £70 incl. VAT so you could try it for the year and still have a fallback to v17 and possibly renew with Magix next time when it might have caught up.

I have been using XDP 19 because I don't like Xara's subscription model for the +-version.

I've been using XDP 11, i tried a newer version and loved the 4K support, but still using the same tools no need to upgrade for me. You can try the new version and see if the new features are useful for your projects.

Thanks for all your replies. Was very busy over Christmas/new year so missed the 70% discount.
I'll maybe stay with what I have for now.
