lost icon linked to a pdf files after printing

Using Xara web designer premium v 19
i set a page where i have text linked to a pdf file when the user opens the link and print the file that text is gone from the screen when you go back.
Please advise.
The first attachment is after is open the second is before the file is open

@AlexB, I am afraid that I do not understand what you have explained at all.

All I can suggest is that you should force the PDF to be opened in a new window.
That why your web page is not altered in any way.

if you have dragged just your PDF onto the design page, Xara's approach does not let this happen.
You could just change the Xara-created Placeholder code:

<a href="index_htm_files/WorldFirstLetter.pdf"><img src="https://webdesigner.xara.com/pdficon_large.png" border="0"></a>

to become

<a href="index_htm_files/WorldFirstLetter.pdf" target="_new"><img src="https://webdesigner.xara.com/pdficon_large.png" border="0"></a>

This still leaves the inane call to a Xara site to retrieve its pdf icon.

What I do is drag the PDF onto the page and then delete the Placeholder Link icon.
Use any shape and add a link to index_htm_files/WorldFirstLetter.pdf, followed by setting its Link > Open link in New window or Tab (_blank).
Obviously, use the name of your PDF file and not mine (WorldFirstLetter.pdf).
This approach means the shape could be the title text or a printer symbol🖨or locally sourced PDF glyph.

Let me explain myself again
In this page i create text field using the Text tool
Type the Text as is in attachment one then link that text to a pdf file
when i run the Preview Whole site i go to the page where those text fields are that i can see all of them
The moment i choose to se any one it opens the pdf on a new tab when i close the tab it goes back to the page and now as it is on attachment 2 that text is gone but when i Hover the mouse on top of where it was i can see the txt.

Check to see if you have 'Visited Colour' set to the same as your background:

Utilities > Web Properties > Website (tab) > Visited Colour (coloured swatches near the bottom)

@Alex, I'm sure that now seeing your update that @Chris is on the right track.

Presumably, clicking invisible text opens the PDF again?
