There are tons of places online which allow free downloads of their sounds - you just have to poke around a bit. Here's an example. Just be careful that you don't take credit for someone else's work, and always read the fine print. Usually, you're better off creating your own sounds whenever possible, or purchasing access to a cheap sound library or buying a few CDs of sound effects.
