Align text in Xara Designer Pro

Hi Guys,

I am creating a list in Xara Designer Pro. How do I align the text to the lines that I created?
I am copying the text and inserting into a text box but cannot seem to get the text aligned to each line.
I've tried different spacing but nothing aligns. Each column will have a separate text box


What will be easiest way to do this in Xara?

The best and easiest way to achieve this would be through the new Xara tables. Alignment is automatic and you can copy/text from a spreadsheet if needed.

Align the top entry correctly. Do the same with the last Entry.
Ensure the other entries are between these two.

Then select all your text area/columns and open Object Alignment (Shift+Ctrl+L) > Selection Bounds + Vertical Position: Distribute Equi-spaced.

Create alternating Zebra-striped rows for your table.
Use Add Text Inside > Fixed Inside for each text line.

Play around with Paragraph Background, or the Push setting, or Smart Duplication, or the new Xara Table Tool.

Create a large Box with a Repeating Vertical Grey/White Linear Fill with its Profile set (0, -1).
Simply adjust its length to match the row height.

Thanks Boy, I forget one that works if the rows are evenly spaced:

• Select all Text rows.
• Ensure Smart transform is off.
• Alt+Drag the bottom centre control to adjust the row spacing.

Very similar to using Smart Duplicate > Spacing without the need for Smart Duplicate.

While waiting I was playing around with some settings and this seems to work.
I adjusted the Space After Paragraph and Line Spacing, I changed the Line Spacing from % to pt
This seemed to align my text perfectly within the lines I created.
Not sure if this makes sense

Zaahir, I misunderstood your problem, thinking you also had a separate text box for each line.

Yes, setting the Line Spacing is probably all you needed.
The Space After works for when you had nothing on the line (a Space added would also work).
