Problem with image handles not allowing equal horizontal & vertical resizing

I'm not sure what happened, but I'm stuck in an odd mode where resizing an image is limited to changing an image in both horizontal and vertical directions simultaneously instead of an equal horizontal and vertical resize. The cursor changes to a plus instead of an arrow pointer for either up, down, right or left diagonal.



Restarting did not help and if you have any ideas, I can sure use them.

I am not sure what you are trying to do.

But with the new resizing handles, and with Lock Aspect Ratio (the little black padlock icon) the lower right handle resizes proportionately. The two side handles and the bottom center handle will resize in one direction, non-proportionately.

With Lock Aspect Ratio disabled, then the cursor in the lower right corner turns to the four-way arrow and the shape is resized in a free form manner.

This issue causes more problems than it's worth. Smart Transform. Here's a screen grab of the options Gary refers to when right clicking over the Lock Aspect Ratio. I know of nobody that likes this introduction.

Egg - FWIW I do not have Smart Transform enabled. With or without Lock Aspect Ratio enabled or disabled the resize handle in the lower right corner either scales the selection proportionately or freeform (you can drag any shape for the selection).

For my money, if Smart Transform were to disappear from that menu, I would not miss it.

Gary, to chip in, if the perverse right-click menu was to disappear completely, I too would not miss it.
Smart transform ought to be an visible toggle icon.

Nothing to do with Smart Transform. The OP simply has aspect ratio lock turned off, as shown by the pointer shape over the handle.

Turn aspect ratio lock back on by just clicking on the button (no need to do anything with the popup menu) and that handle will work as required.
