Default Rotate an object around a circle

    Hi Everybody,

I'm trying to clone a wee-circle around the inside of a larger circle. (I'm using Photo & Graphic Designer 19)

    • I have moved the wee-circle centre point down to the center point of the larger circle.
    • Cloned the wee-circle, set the Angle of Selection to -5, pressed <Enter>. I intend to go all along curve of
the larger circle, like the markings on a clock.

I would like to set this up and automatically repeat the process until the wee-circles complete their own circle, but the clones
are all being placed on the same location as the original wee-circle.

What have I missed. Is there a tutorial to explore this?
    Many Thanks,
    -Paul-

In Page Settings > General set your Angle of Restraint to 5.

Select your wee circle and rotation point. Drag the rotation handle clockwise or anti-clockwise (your choice) for the small circle until it snaps into place and right click to drop a duplicate. Continue to drag, right click drop, drag, right click drop until you are done.

Paul, my first shout would be create a Scatter Brush from a Wee Circle (WeeCee) and add this new Line to the large circle and then change the Line Width or large circle radius to create any number of evenly spaced Wee Circles. Your ask for 72 touching circles would be a breeze. You would have yo add a second large(r) circle with no Line behind if you wanted the inner fit.
If you need to manipulate the WeeCees then Convert Line to Shape and Ungroup.
This is a non-starter if you only have Xara Web Designer Premium.

Ditto for a blend of two WeeCees with 70 Steps. You then Fit blend to Curve around the large circle.
If you need to manipulate the WeeCees then Convert Line to Shape and Ungroup.

The only sane way using XWDP is to place two WeeCees (WC) at opposite ends of the large circle's diameter.
Lock the large circle and select the 2WCs.
    Clone and rotate 90deg.
Clone the 4WCs and rotate #5deg.
Clone the 8WCs and rotate #10deg.
Clone the 16 WCs and rotate #20deg.
Clone the 32 WCs and rotate #40deg.
You will now be 8 WCs short.

You could have Copied the 8WCs early on and Pastes in Place then rotate #50deg.
I'll leave you to work out your best workflow.

You could use a 72-point Star and hang a WeeCee off each point.

I believe that should be 71 steps Acorn?

Egg, the start with the end shapes and the 70 in between make 72.
If you check the default 5 Steps you will see there are 7 objects.

@Gary, the Scatter Brush is the simplest going for any large shape as there is no calculating once you have set the spacing to 100%.

Can't agree with that Acorn. Indeed there are 72 wee circles but the start and end wee circles overlay each other when blended to a circle

Thank you Egg. I had to break at points and move the end to see the overlap - 71 Steps it is!
