Default Trimming white from jpeg logos

Seems to happen every late summer. I have a banner that I’m constructing for a United Appeal type of Facebook page.
I’ve requested about 17 logos from different sources. Also I requested png logos. I ended up with a bunch of jpgs.

The jpg logos have clearly defined shapes. Some are round, or square etc, and all with the customary white background.
I’d like to take the white (No color) away from the background only. Some are a little more complicated with actual white in the logo.

Perhaps someone could point me in the right direction and I’ll figure it out for myself, because I was too dumb to save my notes from last time. The logos are pretty uncomplicated. I’ve included a screenshot of some of the logos I have to clean up. Apologies for the awful screenshot. It’ll give you an idea. Thanks all ~BillClick image for larger version.

Found it I figure. Photo tool > mask. Think that’s it mostly.

    Select the JPEG.
Photo Tool > Select colours to enhance.
Click on the White --> Red Dot with checkerboard of all affected parts.
Right-click Red Dot > Make transparent.

Probably need to drop Tolerance and Fade controls to 0%.

Hi @acorn. Most logos came out pretty well. Just a question. You'll notice in the drop down > select colors to enhance > the drop tolerance and fade controls will not move to 0%. Not sure if it makes a whole lot of difference for the sizes I'm dealing with, but just an observation.

Bill - Something is wrong here. I use this feature all the time and I have never had a problem getting the percentages down to 0.

bill - it may simply be that your colours to enhance are not, or no longer, selected [correctly]

Perhaps it’s the sequence. I’ll try selecting the picture, clicking the color, and the. Going back to the slider drop downs.
    Thanks.
