Web Link button in "Xara Photo and Graphic" Designer

Hi

I recently switched from many years of using the full Xara package to "Web and Photo Designer" only. Generally very happy and wondering why I didn't do this years ago (since I have long since given up on Xara for website editing).

However, I have just discovered an annoying (apparent) omission with my new package - no web link icon on any toolbar or way to add one! There is a "Web Properties" button on the button palette which seems to do the same thing but I can't seem to find how to add this to my text control bar. Also bizarrely under the 'Utilities' Menu I find "Web Link (Shift+Contol+W). So it can be accessed - just not as a simple text operation as in just about any other editor!

Weird design decision, rather than a real problem, I think.

Charlie, just a guess. Can you select the document type and set it to Web document?
usually under Options > General.

There is no such program. There is Web Designer Premium and Photo & Graphics Designer. If you purchased Photo & Graphics Designer as you indicate in your subject, but not in your message, then you have no web features. You only get both in Xara Designer Pro X, which is what you had before.

Hadn't looked at that setting before. It does add "Web Link" to the end of the right-click menu. I don't really think of a PDF with an embedded URL as a "Web Document" - but it sort of makes sense.

Yes - I got that to work thanks (once I realised that you can't drag new buttons onto the info bar).
