Is it important to put alt tags and page descriptions on graphics and pages in a supersite linked to from a placeholder on your main site? I'm talking about Egg's widescreen slideshow. Thanks!

Nancy, Alt Text and Page Descriptions are always useful and especially important for screen-readers.
As a designer, you should be doing this automatically for every large image you publish.
Later XDAs also have Image Filenaming so you need to consider using these too.
If the slideshow you are referring to is based around Egg's, siran's and my efforts then the 'slides' are actual Xara pages being cycled round in a Placeholder.
If so then the answer should be yes.
