groups and animations

just playing and learning
made a text box
with a heading format inside for the title
and normal text for the body

I inserted a line above and a line below
and I grouped all together

I then highlighted the Heading and did web animation
wobble on mouse over

saved and did preview
nothing happened

I UNGROUPED the text box and lines
now the animation works ??

the same thing happens with a widget
the photo viewer will not process in a group

to continue my 'research'
this time a added mouseover animation to a photo next to a text box
verified worked
then made a group of the photo and text box
animation stopped working


is there a limitation on using groups? or
am I missing some 'trick' somewhere'

You know that when grouping text, it will be converted into a bitmap, right?

I have followed your directions and still get a Wobble Heading. I even grouped this group with a Slider Widget and both worked.

Groups unless they are grouping across Layers should have their individual objects still function.
That is why your MouseOver failed.

If you are hitting edge cases, the easiest would be to upload a bugged design for other to confirm.
Otherwise ther are too many uncontrolled aspects.

Boy, not with the latest Xara versions: grouped Text stays as text.
TG has v17 so someone else might have to confirm that is what is happening for them.

My mistake in assuming your "mouseover" involved the MouseOver layer.
