Mobile Navigation-Hamburger - need assistance

Sue, I can see the issue on my mobile; you may have grouped the icon with a white rectangle? You could just use a shape group for the icon or select the menu symbol.

Sue, a Xara NavBar needs a Group of a Shape with some Text.

Open the Text Tool.
Click on your design.
Pick Insert > Symbol > Search: Hamburger.

Create a similar-sized blob - a square Box will do.
Make it any Colour Fill, different to your Hamburger symbol.
Put it underneath your Hamburger.

Group both.
Right-click and pick Create Navigation Bar.
Make the Box have No Fill.

Double-click the Hamburger.

Acorn, great instructions...I got to the part about right click and there is no option to pick "create navigation bar."
Did I miss a step..when you say open text too, I did that..was I supposed to type something? I just made a square and then followed your instructions to grab the hamburger under "symbol."

Sue, two separate actions here.

In using the Text tool, you are inserting the Hamburger as a font character.
The Box is another step.

Then you group together.
The NavBar can then be made.

Acorn, tears of joy...thank you so much. I think where I went wrong was that the right click was not there to create the nav bar..but it certainly is there under arrange!

Sue, follow Acorn's advice in the above post. I had not spotted you were using a standard Xara Navbar (poor form from me!). In Acorn's instructions, you can make the square background box 99% transparent if you wish, but might be better overall with a natural colour. Sue22_Hamburger_2_Icon.xar
