    Default Lockheed L-133 Starjet

The Lockheed L-133 Starjet was designed in 1939 and was proposed to be the first jet fighter of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) during World War II. Powered by two axial-flow turbojets with a canard design capable of 612 mph (985 km/h) in level flight. Rejected as too radical but aided in the development of the P80 Shooting Star which did see service at the end of WWII.
