Here's my (non-Windows/Mac) workflow to access the scribble XAR file...
(I actually only use Affinity Designer out of those apps shown!)

‘skin a cat'. I know what you mean, but just had to look up the origin of that saying. Apparently in some southern US states it now refers to skinning catfish! ;-)
