    Default Interactive Kiosk

Hi, I am a member of a local history group and am trying to put together an interactive kiosk for our ‘new’ 12th-century exhibition space. Basically it will be a website running on an Android tablet. The interactivity and animated displays appear to work OK but I have what I am sure is a very simple problem… How do I make the site open and stay in ‘Full Screen Mode’ ? And once it is in this mode how do I ensure that visitors cannot turn it off ? All ideas welcome

zatapak, only with a lot of code and device tweaking.

You could look at https://www.fully-kiosk.com/en/, for a small cost, will do what you need.

Thanks, Acorn, that may well be the way to go. I had already seen it on Play Store but thought it was a little top-heavy. Surprised there is not a simpler solution which could be integrated into Xara...

It's about browser control and you as editor choosing to override what the end user expects. It's a standards matter. You otherwise would have to get a dedicated kiosk browser if one exists. Not Xara but browser developers.

    Thanks Acorn,
If I have correctly understood this... as the app is for single use within the museum I need to find a 'full screen' app which works just on the tablet and not for 'full screen mode' for anybody who logs into the non existant website? Am I getting our message? red wine and sunshine can be confusing....

zapatak, sorry I mistyped your handle!

You have a dedicated Android tablet, upon which you wish to run a locally-installed Xara website in kiosk mode, full screen, no title and no means of closing the presentation/website.

There's lots of steps you need like ensuring the device cannot be physically powered off, whitelisting to just that web address, ...
