Default Why do I even bother Stereogram

Gene and I are frequently frustrated that many of the stereograms we spend hours and days creating are vastly underappreciated. But at the same time, some really lame, poorly done, very simple stereograms get many times more likes than some of ours.

So I whipped up this image in under an hour (it would have been faster but I changed the hidden word halfway in) and it has gotten over 400 likes in one of the Facebook stereogram pages and over 200 in one of the other pages.

I also did one image with a pattern of earth that just reads DIRT that has done almost as well.

Maybe we shouldn't try so hard?

I have so much fun looking at these I race my wife on who can see it first. Usually takes me about a minute. Best viewed in the morning with sleepy eyes. Well done. I don’t know how you do it, but terrific.

Bill - My partner Gene Levine and I have been doing these stereograms for over 25 years! We've learned a few tricks along the way.

I feel for you gary.... the amount of time spent on any work of art never guarantees appreciation...

On the whole I like that one Gary.

Who's to tell what makes a difference between viewers appreciation?

I for one appreciate the work you and Gene put into these even thought I can no longer see them.

    Hi Gary,

I love your stereograms but rarely comment and I really like the hole thing. From recollection, I believe that Picasso said that he would do 3 or 4 paintings per day, never knowing which one would be successful.

    Gary,

Wow, this one has some of the most clear depth. I think that is what makes it so popular.

Your stereograms are awesome, Gary. Trying to understand what makes one more popular than another is probably not predictable.
