Xara Designer Pro+ Update (21.8)

Here’s a second update for Xara Designer Pro+ within the last month. v21.8 offers automatic self-hosting of Google Fonts, in response to the latest GDPR developments in Europe. As well as offering instant compliance with GDPR rules, you’ll hopefully see some performance improvements too.

You can find a short summary of what's new in every release on the Xara site and there's full info in our Designer Pro+ Release Notes.

If you have a current Pro+ or Team+ subscription with Xara then the update will download to Designer Pro+ automatically.

So Google currently without consent collects IP addresses of every person who posts and visits a site with Google fonts. What a bunch of . . . ! I guess there really are no free lunches.

This is an awesome new feature.

I am very surprised that the fonts were handled in this way. I always thought that the fonts were hosted on your website. Unless you go looking for the CSS style sheet for this, you would never know.

Can't wait until this makes it to the Magic/Xara Designer Pro package.

Glad you approve! Font Awesome does work in the same way by default, but in Designer Pro (and our other titles) they were already self-hosted.

I have passed on your request about the slider.
