Default Web Design Premium or Designer Pro X

    Hi
I am a long time Webplus user and yes I still use it, it does most of what I need.
However I have a few pennies and on a limited budget and looking to move with the times.
My choices are primarily driven around web design but what would be a better option, Web Design Premium or Designer Pro X?
I do want to do off line work and keep local copies so not really looking at the cloud version. Also I am looking to avoid the £20 a month for a tool I use on an ad hock basis.
I'm not an artist and occasionally make some notices and signs but not sure that justifies going to Designer Pro X ( I still use PagePlus for that).
But on the other hand would Designer Pro have the best of both worlds?

    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks

I have Designer Pro X and would highly recommend it as you can create your banner ads etc. within the same program you are doing your web design in. If you do get it I would be sure that before your year of update service runs out that you download the content catalog so you have all of these valuable assets at your disposal after your update service ends.

This gets very confusing even for us long time users. Some time ago, Magix, a German software company purchased Xara, the creator of the Xara products.

Xara continues to develop Designer Pro and Web Designer and Magix markets Designer Pro X but Xara AFAIK markets and sells Designer Pro+.

Slightly different versions of the same product.

Magix has not updated Designer Pro X in some time. But Xara makes frequent updates, upgrades, and adds new content fairly often.

So, even if you don't need the Cloud services, I would opt for Designer Pro+. You still have the desktop application and all the tools and features.

Toogood, if you are on a budget then go for Xara Web Designer Premium (do note - avoid Xara Web Designer at all costs).
    Magix sell both.

You will be able to do most of what can be done in Xara Designer Pro (also sold by Magix) or Xara Pro+ (with Cloud+).
Pro+ & Cloud are Xara's flagship and all the others are sub-products. You can get Xara Pro+ with a 50% discount with the LIFETIME voucher. Do check this is still active.

Xara Pro+ is the better option but is one subscription.
If you can afford Xara Designer Pro, choose that over Xara Web Designer Premium.
If after a year, you choose to renew the Magix Update Service then, instead, consider a switch to Xara Pro+ (with the LIFETIME voucher).
After another year, you can buy back in to the Magix Update Service for a similar subscription cost.

The Magix products are perpetual use licences; the Xara Pro+ is subscription.

I could do 90% of what I do with Premium. I run with Pro+ when I have clients.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

Still thinking about the Perpetual products.
I think I am stuck between
    Web Designer Premium at £45
or Designer Pro X 18 at £109, though do I need the functions to do the publishing etc? Not really but if it makes life easier and quicker it may be a benefit.

If by publishing you mean uploading your site to your web host, then both products will do that and both have the same tools and settings for that.

You need Pro+, so £204/y but £102/y with the LIFETIME voucher.

Sorry, I should have made that clearer, I meant desktop publishing, docs etc
