Dear Xara...

...I have always found your pop-ups for the erasure steps of a photo to be quite discombobulating.

My approach needs fewer steps:

  • For Help, click (?) to open Erasing Backgrounds and include:
    1. To erase the background from your photo, select the Mask Painter tool and roughly paint over some of the parts of the image you want to keep.
    2. Next, select the Eraser tool and roughly paint over the parts you want to erase.
    3. Now, click the Erase Background button.

The great thing is your pop-ups don't appear at any stage and Steps 1-3 need little referencing again as they are succinct enough to be remembered.
