Suggestion. Edit photo in raw format

following on from eggs point re 'standard bitmap' - given that a bitmap image is but a pixel matrix with attributes assigned to the pixels in various ways, does making a bitmap copy remove at least some of this info because that is when I usually see 'standard bitmap' in the gallery

I do too. In fact the most modern phone cameras have the ability to shot RAW. Pretty amazing. Certainly you can get down in the weeds. As an amateur photog Xdp is just fine, but a larger file just gives you more control for shade, shadow, exposure etc. I’ve seen some great jpegs in my day. My assignment was a Christmas light shoot where light sources are difficult.
