Importing RAW photo at a reduced size.

One of the greatest things about Xara is the ability to adjust photographs by using the adjust brush. So simple, and powerful and so effective. I have a series of Christmas light shots in the dead of night. By shooting in RAW Xara is indeed powerful. Lightening some areas, darkening others.
My problem, and I believe @acorn touched on this in another thread. When importing a large 25 meg file the image is of course HUGE.
But is there a way to adjust an import setting to let’s say 500 / 250 pxs, rather than a whopping 3000 by 1500 px.
I edit a photo in a new file of course, but these files are comically huge. Thanks all.

Actually another way is just zoomin down before importing. Worked well. Thanks @handrawn.
