Is there a "Pack together" operation? The Alignment tool allows a variety of "spreading out" and "lining up" options, but I don't see a "Snuggle up tight" option> Have I missed it? If not, can it be on the wish-list?

Not sure what you mean. Do you mean align objects so they are touching one another but not overlapping?
If so, that would be a useful setting.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant, and your diagram illustrated it prefectly.
Of course, in some cases simply arranging objects so that their bounding boxes touch would not be enough. For instance, if you had a row of 5-pointed stars, one the right way up, the next upside down, and so on. One would need something else like "snuggle up until one of my lines touches one of yours" (sorry, I'm not awfully scientific...) in which cases the bounding boxes could overlap. I have no idea how one would go about it, but there are loads of clever people in Xara... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I've wished for mind-reading software for years. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
OTOH, that's what MS has been trying to do with Office, and the results have been mixed to awful.http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/redface.gif
OK, I take it back. Maybe mind-reading software isn't such a great idea.

I would tend to say that software tends more towards the awful side of the fence and getting worse with every patch. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
They used to have hardware, software and firmware. Well, microsux should patent lumpware and office is a fine example. The lumpiest taters I ever did see.. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Er, no... not if it's MS trying to read my mind... I have enough trouble trying to protect my computer from the world at large!!
I'd hope that there would be an option to do it this way or that way... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Great idea!
Here's some more....

Intel i7 - 4790K Quad Core + 16 GB Ram + NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1660 Graphics Card + MSI Optix Mag321 Curv monitor + Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB SSD + 232 GB SSD + 250 GB SSD portable drive + ISP = BT + Web Hosting = TSO Host
But on a more serious side, Flash has a very convenient 'Make shapes same size' in either the vertical / horizontal or both axis.

Great Egg... simply great!
Very funny, Egg.http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif I particularly like the demoralized shapes.
