Default New Student trying to figure something out with Illustrator

I'm positive this either can be done and I just don't know how, or it's simply impossible with the current capabilities.

I have multiple rectangle objects, each with a gradient of its own. I need to connect these objects in the position they are in and have the edges "blend' or gradient into each other. Where rectangular objects will connect, the gradients already match. It's not a gradient of 2 colors, but rather multiple using color stops.

Thanks for any advice or instruction.

    Chris

This forum is primarily for users of Xara design products. But if you can post an example of what you're trying to do maybe we can show you how we do it in Xara and you can translate into Illustrator.

I don't think this is what you are looking to do but, this is 3 different colored rectangles blended, basically the pinkish and blue blended converted to editable shapes then the orange rectangle blended to that.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

Larry, I don't think the ask is for a Xara-style Blend.

I took it to be a gradient Fill with colour stops. My attempt is a Linear Fill across all the boxes selected together.
I added in a page background as well.

I could have instead created a lot of black boxes on a white background and placed a large box with colour-stopped fills on top and set it to a Screen (Bleach) Transparency.
