    Why not clone the text in place and add the shadow to the one at the rear?
    Or, clone, add an outline and feather the rear one.
    All of those would work.

    Indeed!
    The most obvious way is just add a Black stroke (Line width) to the Heading. It doesn't have to be a shadow for emphasis.
    I waited for anyone to suggest that...
