for the first time ever I saw a bumble bee fly into a spider web and immediately get stuck, usually they get out no problem

let her crawl out on my finger and she wandered very slowly down to the wrist; if there was a spider around it was keeping well out of sight

one very tired bombus I'm thinking; eventually she flew off slowly, but then bumble bees rarely rush, they prefer to buzz

we also had 14 red admiral butterflies all sunning on the bird table roof last tuesday, but I left them to it

weather is changing now, the north sea winds are back although I would not call it cold yet

Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway. — Mary Kay Ash

I am still amazed that some helicopters get off the ground when i look at what those rotors have to lift

Cute, docile little guy. We get a ton of bees of all kinds in the yard, depending what's in bloom.
