I like that version a lot Acorn. It's also possible to place a rectangle below the image same-same as background and have the decription text & link slide up only within the image as I'm sure you're aware but just in case others dont ;-)

If I knew how, I'd make the fade up box white with 20% transparency and use dark brown text.
