Default How do you link MouseOver and MouseOff objects?

How does Xara know which objects should show on MouseOver? Do the groups have to have the same name? Is soft linking required? Do they need to be on top of each other?

I'm getting inconsistent results with a picture not showing up on MouseOver and can't figure out how this works.

You're right with the soft linking. Select your trigger on the MouseOff layer and the corresponding object on the MouseOver layer, then Arrange > Apply Soft Group. Create a link to whatever you're linking to and you're done.

paco, anything with a link on MouseOff with a shape on the MouseOver layer covering more than 50% of the linked object will pop-up on hover.
The MouseOver object need not have a link or even be Soft-Grouped but the latter certainly helps in keeping things together.

In an effort to prove Acorn wrong (a difficult job but I felt up to the task) I created a web page with a simple rectangle on MouseOff and another on MouseOver spaced well away from each other. I softgrouped the two, added a link and previewed the page confident the MouseOver rectangle would put in an apperance...nope, didn't work.

Did all the straw grabbing things that I knew wouldn't work but did them anyway. Like adding the link first, grouping, ungrouping, eating chocolate, no difference, the MouseOver rectangle remained dormant, no doubt chucking to itself.

I then moved the MouseOver rectangle into the same area as the MouseOff rectangle. Nothing, a no show...until...yup, 50%+ of overlap.

    One day Acorn, one day.

A forlorn task you're taking on there Chris.
