The simple question to determine which to purchase is - Will you want to update your program after a year. Since you are on version 12 they may not be a big deal for you. If you don't plan to update every year then go the Magix version for $99. You will get version 18 and possibly 19 within the year and you will be able to continue to use that version for several years.

I just choose the Xara Pro+ since I complain about it but tend to renew every year. There is a special LIFETIME deal with Xara if you own Designer you can get an annual $101 deal.

I find that too expensive for what's being offered. So far, anyway. Perhaps that under Rob-Xar's leadership value per dollar may improve.
