    Default Webpage filename initial capitalisation

    Hi

I have just recreated over 300 website pages that were originally written in HTML with Dreamweaver using Xara Designer Pro X (18). It took a long time!

I have also recreated a small section of the website called the 'Reference' section. This has a web-page with filename 'references'. The original website had a page 'References'.

The 300 pages all have a link to 'References/htm' (Capital 'R').

I can't seem to create a page with an initial capital letter using Xara.

The website appears to be working but I can't be sure it will work on all browsers.

    The questions are :
Does if matter - will automatic redirection take place?
Can I create a Xara webpage named 'References'?
Do I have to alter the 300+ pages to link to 'references.htm'?

    The website is https://www.waterwaysongs.info

Ian, Xara ensures that Page filenames are always lowercase.

Links to reference.htm will work regardless of the case.
If you go to reference.htm and a later time, reference.htm, your browser cache will probably also remember what your first visited with and changes case to that. In other words, it does not matter.

It is usually only PHP pages that can be case-sensitive.

    Hi Acorn

Thanks for your prompt response. It's a relief to know that it doesn't matter. I have had enough of repetitive tedious tasks.

    Regards
    Ian
