    Default Free Vector Tool

A link to an interesting free vector tool -- Canny Vectors -- can be found here. There's also a download link for the manual which explains the functionality and also offers examples. Even though designed with the Affinity suite in mind, it exports your designs as .svg that can also be imported into the later Xara apps.

    Thanks, Boy!
Have you experimented with the app yet? If so, what's your opinion of it?

Thanks for sharing the link. It's really great to see an independent developer making these type of utilities.

I’ve had a quick look and actually found it awkward to ungroup something pasted into XDP directly from the app, but not so, for example pasting into Affinity Designer or VectorStyler. I think it’s because Xara understands about the HTML code clipboard format more than graphics only apps, and pastes into a HTML Placeholder.

The app does quite a limited number of things quite well, for example making a grid of lines, and works along the lines of as those Xara Spiral and Spray utilities of days gone past.

Rather that copy straight from Canny Vectors and work with an .html file, it's better to first export to .svg and import the file into XDP.

Only a bit. I find it a useful little app to have in the graphics toolbox.

Sorry, Boy, but I don't see a link.

If it's there, I tool too many Stupid Pills this morning. If not:

Canny Vectors at the Microsoft Store

It's fun, and a good way to fill a page with random shapes. I've been using Inkscape to populate a page; this seems an easier route.

Happy Memorial Day to our friends in The States,

The link is really there, Gare, but here's the full link: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/ind...n-for-windows/.

I gave it because it also contains a download link to the manual.

tha manual is no longer avaiable through that link - that said you probably just have to sign into the affinity forum to get it...?

handrawn, just open Canny Vectors > Settings > User Guide.

Good to have you point that out, Acorn. I missed that link.

To be fair, though, both XDP (v. 18) and Canny Vectors allow you to access the manual from within the app and in both instances it opens in another app (of your choosing).
