    I had one do the same ... ish ... but I managed to get into the BIOS and change the boot order to boot from a LINUX flash drive, and managed to install a working copy of LINUX mint.

    And after that installed the latest Wine and within Wine installed Xara only to discover that starting Xara takes ages, if it starts at all .... ?

    At least, that's my experience.

    However, if it runs it's as fast as in native Windows. So far I haven't encountered any issues. Even nTrig and Wacom pens are working as they should (provided one installs the proprietary WinTAB drivers on Wine)

    Thanks everyone. Got it working under Windows 7. I use this laptop when I'm on vacation, just in case a client needs a quick update. I haven't worked with it yet on the laptop to see if it's slow or not. I suspect it'll be acceptable.
