Default Text looks thinner in PDF after export

Working away on a document in Designer Pro+, I export it to PDF, open the PDF and: the text is definitely thinner.

I noticed this before in Designer Pro X, and so used other programs for exporting to PDF instead.

I've tried all kinds of export settings, with no luck, to make it look 'normally thicker'.

    Any way around that?

Can you send me the XAR file and PDF that you are seeing this issue with through our support to take a look?

    Hi Rob,

Attached are the original Xar file and the exported PDF.
Text in the PDF is thinner than in the Xar file.

Same text in 2 other DTPs exports thicker in their PDFs (but looks equally thick as in the programs).

Seamus, I took both files and compared from a browser & PDF editor against the design page.
I compared the Preview of the design again against web and PDF editor.
Finally, I downloaded from the Preview PDF link and did the same with that PDF.

All viewed the same at scale.

Many thanks for looking into this (literally!). Must be an Adobe PDF thing (though 'Enhance thin lines' is ticked in Preferences).
And I took your cue and checked in Edge Browser (hadn't thought of that). The PDF looks perfectly the same as in the Xar file.

That's great, I can work away confidently.

    False alarm!

the rendering in adobe reader has always been a bit 'iffy' at times, it was never meant for proofing; now at least, as others have pointed out, you can open PDF in a browser as a cross-check

there are other PDF reader apps around but the only 'foolproof' one I know of is acrobat itself, which 'aint free
