    Default HEVC Video Support

    Gday all,

    I'm back! I'm trying to put up a HEVC video on my website to reduce download bandwidth but haven't had any luck so far. I don't know whether I'm doing something wrong or whether Xara WD Premium V17 can't handle it.

    The code I'm using (thanks again, Gary) is:

    <video controls width="100%" height="100%" poster="https://iflewformma.com/assets/f28poster43.jpg" >
    <source src="https://iflewformma.com/assets/hevc.mp4" type="video/mp4" >
    </video>

    I haven't uploaded this code yet but the program Previews using any of the browsers are not working.

    I've attached a sample HEVC MP4.

    Thanks for any input.

    Cheers, Alwyn

    Alwyn, I don't know if this article is still accurate: https://www.howtogeek.com/680690/how...r-h.265-video/.

    It suggests Windows 10 does not have the codecs installed so using HEVC will only cause you trouble for viewers, like me, would don't have the codecs.

    I believe it's because of licensing issues that the HEVC/H265 is not yet a widely accepted codec.

    Thanks everyone, I'll stick with H264.
