Default Master Layer / Master Page / Master Guidelines

I'm using the new Designer Pro+. In my previous Designer Pro X, I've never been able to make a Master Layer or Master Page. That's okay, but I've never been able to make a Guideline appear on all pages. And now, in Designer Pro+, I can't make a Guideline appear on all pages, a very handy feature for layout on a multipage document. Yes, I can make individual Guidelines on Guide layers in each page, but that's a lot of work.

    Any solutions?

Seamus, copy & paste isn't that hard to retrofit.
Also, if you set up the first page with Guides then all New Blanks have the same Guides.
Note that if you go to Utilities > Options and set all pages to have the same layer, you only get the Guides layer and not its prior contents, if one had been set up.

The closest to a Master Page is to save a design as a Template. Not really what a Master Page is for but it helps.

If you are talking about something like a book or magazine where all pages are the same size, then set up your first spread, add your guidelines and repeating objects, e.g. headers, page numbers, and in Page Size, select All Pages in Document the Same. You can also link your text boxes and set to automatically create new page.

Thanks for those suggestions. My document is already created and I'm re-purposing it, which requires some extensive editing. I can also make 'marker lines' that repeat on all pages, then just delete them before going to print or export.

It would be a neat new feature - guidelines that automatically appear on all pages, especially for documents that are being re-done.

New features ... That's an interesting concept.

Nevermind me, I'm overworked and crancky, and probably feeling a little cynical ...

I'll push forward the idea. You never know... :-)

    Just found a great workaround...

On the Guide Layer, draw a line with the Straight Line tool. It appears as a red dotted line, just like a Guideline, but can be repeated on all pages.

Anything drawn on the guideline layer becomes a guideline ...

One problem that used to come up in this forum often was objects that only appeared with a red dashed outline.
