    Lightbulb TG Logo Rework

I wanted to see how sharp I could make the TG Logo using Xara.

The original is 125x75px and quite fuzzy.

I took a punt that the Font was DicotMedium Regular and got a good match.
The font does not render in the right place but I fudged that away for the moment.
I wanted text as it scales to any zoom level.

The coloured boxes were made from six rectangles as when Xara renders these they appear as <span> and also scale.

The "talk" had to be a collection of shapes.
In Xara such will be presented as a bitmap.
The best you can do is Group and force each shapes to be a separate image.

Not satisfied, I exported these and the boxes as SVG.
I cheated slightly and used SVGOMG to tidy up Xara's export, which is more than adequate for the job.
I then copied and pasted the <svg> code back into a Placholder body and checked I could resize without any problem.

The accompanying design file has a large 1024px wide Shape/Box/Text presentation.
The smaller 512px wide one is SVG/Text as is the smallest 125px one (Review versus PNG (original).

You could just have asked masque (Derek). He created the logo several years ago for a redesign the logo challenge.

Now it's an SVG, Egg can animate it.

handrawn, yes it was for the sole purpose of making a logo from my current capabilities. Before I would have been happy with a PNG but to achieve vector quality, retaining editorial control and beyond was my goal.

I believe that if I can build better, I should.

Xara's original vision was to achieve a vector-based render for all browsers around its concepts; SVG mostly achieves this so why should we just accept second best with raster outputs?

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

I've no idea Larry, I just traced the shape of the font from the original logo.
