I checked too it previews OK, but exporting gave me problems and would not open at all, in XPD17, years ago I ran across a program(not Photoshop) that would allow gif tweening, but cannot find it now, sorry.

I looked some more and found this, but have not tried it good luck.

Oops, didn't read your OP carefully enough.
You're right, of course, but Xara has so many tools that need maintenance, updating or even upgrading that I don't wait around for them anymore to take action. I placed the AVI file in Pinnacle Studio 24U and exported it as a gif file, maintaining transparency. If I remember correctly, you're using Magix Movie Edit Pro, don't you? Might also work.Using an external program is a workaround that should not be required.
out of interest - how smooth is it, and how big is the file ?

Thanks everyone for looking at this.
Here is the link to the initial question on the Magix.info forum, "Since MS no longer support Flash on Windows 10, what are my options of creating animations, upgrade or other software?"
I've posted the link to this thread on the other forum so that Brian-Bennett can see the possible solutions.
As for me, I have no problem as I don't make GIFs except with Xara 3D Maker 7, and it seems to work fine. However, for someone who just wants to make a little animation as a GIF in Xara DPX or P&GD, then the solution seems to be to create a transparent avi and convert that to GIF with something else.
Let's see what Brian has to say.

from my standpoint HTML5 replaces flash, although I don't get involved in it myself much - there are dedicated programs that will create the necessary to embed - egg bramhill is the guy here to ask I would have thought - xara does not do it

Here's one I created in SVGator, it's 33Kb in size and tweens perfectly.

Having looked at the post on the Magix forum I believe svg is not the way forward for this particular requirement, far better using a Xara Super-slider. AVI's are overkill for such a requirement.

Hi Egg,
That is a super smooth svg animation!
It would be good if the OP, Brian Bennett, would come back with a little more info as to his requirements as something got lost between the graphics animation and making a video slideshow.
