    Default Forum Page?

    Hi again

I wish to add a type of forum page to my website designed in Zara Web Designer Premium 17 which will allow members of my woodturning club to chat to each other, and ask advice etc. Does my software have this capability? I cannot find any.

    Many thanks

    Kev

No Kev, Xara cannot do that as it only delivers static code.

You get around it by creating a forum separately and embedding it into an IFRAME using the Embed a website Widget.

A Lot depends on the forum software program you choose. I use smf. And had it run in an iFrame for 10 years. I was constantly rebuked by everyone saying it would not.... Could not... work. But it did perfectly.
Then program had a major upgrade.. and stopped working ... Due to some security issues. So I just made a stand alone forum in a folder in my server and linked to it from navbar in my site.
This all before my using xara.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

All you have to do is install SMF or similar on your server and link to it. If you have CPANEL, then you can install it from there.
