    Default Traditional Spiral

    This image was made by blending two rectangles along a spiral path. I don't think this can be done with an art brush.

    I see 4 levels of spiral with fab depth and a flat background.

    Acorn - This would produce even circles that taper. I reduced the tonal range on your fill to minimize the amount distortion.

    On my image I have blended two linear filled rectangles so the spiral also comes forward.

    It is possible to combine two or more linear fills to create a brush that goes both ways. I have used two gradient fills with the Repeating Till fill option.
