    i have no suggestions other than filesizes so big are totally wrong.
    Your original robots.txt of size 70 bytes was correct.

    At root level, you have http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting.
    This have http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/robots.txt, which leads to:
    http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/sitemap.xml, describing a single page site:
    Code:
    <urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9"><url>
    <loc>http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/index.htm</loc>
    <lastmod>2019-04-21T19:15Z</lastmod>
    </url>
    </urlset>
    The FTP Host address that I would be using is: sftp.xara.hosting. Port 22 is a default setting so you can ignore it.

    I have looked at http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/2019blog/2019blog.htm
    There is a http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/2019blog/robots.txt file but no http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/2019blog/2019blog.htm/sitemap.xml file.

    there is one for 2017;
    Code:
    <urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9"><url>
    <loc>http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/2017blog/index.htm</loc>
    <lastmod>2019-09-22T13:59Z</lastmod>

    </url>

    <url>
    <loc>http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/2017blog/page 2.htm</loc>
    <lastmod>2019-09-22T13:59Z</lastmod>

    </url>

    <url>
    <loc>http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/2017blog/page 3.htm</loc>
    <lastmod>2019-09-22T13:59Z</lastmod>

    </url>

    <url>
    <loc>http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/2017blog/page 4.htm</loc>
    <lastmod>2019-09-22T13:59Z</lastmod>

    </url>

    </urlset>

    I got this from Magix today:
    I have just checked with our system administrators and have learnt that there was an upgrade installed to increase the security of the connection.
    The old web designer programs are unable to work with this settings, hence the errors you experience. You would need to upgrade to some newer types of the program, i.e. at least version 16 (the actual version is 17.2).
    You can find free trial versions of most of our products on our website (www.magix.net) under the free download section: http://www.magix.com/gb/free-download/
    There used to be an offer to old version users but I don't see that anymore so seems like I will shed £87 for the lastest edition unless any one else knows differently? There was a time when Xara offered the deals, now its Magix. Need to be aware that may happen every six years, at the moment. Thanks for all your help.

    I would buy a domain and seek out a free or cheap hosting service and publish there instead.

    Otherwise use FileZilla and sFTP and bypass the failed XDA coding.

    If you do decide to upgrade, don't do so until v18.0 is release on 22 March 2021.
    I would also push for money back for the loss of access and time wasted.

    Thanks Acorn. I have investigated free domain but I have been unable find free hosting. A penny short of £2 a month is the best I can find. If you belive Magix will allow that to happen then I would have to pay roughtly £24 a year for six years wereas Xara's deal for X17 is £87 untill they decide to rip you off again with an excuse. I will attempt to get X18 for £87 as they mucked me about for 11 days due to their incompetence.

    It said 'free' so you had me right there. I quickly registered a domain name and pointed the DNS at Infinity's hosting and had a sniff around.

    LetsEncrypt is there, so free SSL.
    cPanel is there, it's limited, but everything the average user will need is there.
    Softaculous is there, so easy to install software.
    Limited FTP accounts, but how many does the average user need?
    Only down I came across was no email, webmail only. It states spam as the reason they disabled the feature.

    Have to wait a day or two for the hosting and domain to make friends before speeds can be seen, but so far it's a very impressive free service. Thanks for sharing, Acorn.

    Thanks Acorn. The only problem I see is that I have around 15 websites that are all linked to each other. 11 of these websites have up to 16 links on each site that I would have to update as you can see from the top of this site http://www.pigsear.org.uk/2021blog/2021blog.htm and whilst I can delete all the sites I have no way of redirecting them to a new site. I have contacted Magix and will let you know of their reply. Has anyone any idea of the cost of X18?

    I have accepted Magix's reduction in price for the current ProX17. Having downloaded it and edited the file showing the Error 404 page not found http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/2021blog/2021blog.htm saved it and Published it I found I stil have the same problem. Next I tried saving and Published as http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/2021bblog/2021bblog.htm. Having found I was able to do so I deleted all the 2021blog files and republished them as such. Still the 404 error. As you can see from the publishToxaraHosting jpg attached I re-saved and republished it. But as you can see from the publishToxaraHosting" jpg it saved the file as http://lc4mkm.xara.hosting/2021bblog/2021blog.htm ie instead of 2021bblog.htm it has not. Any solutions anyone?
