    Since I baught my Wacom I use the hard tips. So I feel the most response for my lineart. But my old Intious is on the surface like a fine sandpaper.
    I ask to change the foil – no answer from Wacom. So I tried it with an aftermarket foil, It's a little bit better but the responsibillity is whorse.

    I think ist time to buy a new one, the old one is from 2010.

    I agree hard tips are good for fine detail

    Just recently I have made a concious descision to bite the bullet and pencil a lot more digitally - this means a very soft and gentle response from the pen in order to build up the lines [see my current avatar] and a felt tip has the tooth/drag/inertia call it what you will, that facilitates this

    but that aside hard tips have always been too 'fast' for me, even for inking

    Oh yeah I do. With the shape-painter-tool it's fiddy to got the right stroke. For somme things I need several attempts to got the right stroke.
    But that is o.k. for me.
    So long Xara don't quitt is all good.
